Christmas Wreaths For CCC

Good morning, and what a wet few days we've been having. April is certainly living up to it's reputation. We were so lucky on Thursday when we visited  Kelmscott Manor and had such lovely sunshine.

Rita is hosting our challenge at the Christmas Card Club this time and she wants to see Christmas Wreaths.

Card # 1

This is a 7" x 5" card using an LOTV image.  I used lashings of glitter which doesn't show up at all on the picture but actually looks lovely.  At Christmas I always wish my front door was red - they always show up a wreath so well I feel. Or maybe a nice shiny black.

Card # 2

This is a small 4" x 6" card.  I found this image in the Christmas images section of my Greeting Card Factory de Luxe and thought the fruit made a welcome change from holly etc.

Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Snow Much Fun

Good morning.  Hope you are all well.  Yesterday I had a fabulous day out with the WI to Kelmscott Manor, the inspirational Cotswold retreat of William Morris near Lechlade.  We stopped off at Burford first and had lunch there then went on to the Manor where we had booked an exclusive visit and tour.  William Morris was an extremely interesting man and we saw some beautiful stuff there. It was a bright sunny day, albeit a little chilly, but it was nice not to have any rain.

This is my DT card for Winter Wonderland.  Our sponsor is Sheepski Designs. The prize on offer for the winner is three digi images.

Paper Piecing at IAAS

Good morning and I hope this finds you well.

My post today is to showcase my paper pieced card for International Art and Soul.

My Card

Recipe
7" x 5" base card - ivory pearlescent card
quilt die - cheap die from China
papers - Christmas papers
silk flower from stash

I diecut the die three times in different papers - I used Christmas papers (I think from LOTV) although they don't really look Christmas-sy. Then came the fiddly fun part of putting it altogether and gluing the pieces.  It means I can now do another two cards in a different pattern.

We are a Just For Fun Challenge Blog but we would love you to pop over to the blog and check out what my DT sisters have made. I think we all had fun with this.

Take care and see you again soon.

Christmas Flowers and Greenery at CCC

Good morning and hope you are well.  Seeing the sunshine makes such a difference doesn't it?  Makes you feel good after all the rain and mist and fog. Yesterday was lovely and apparently it will be like this all week.

It's time for our little Christmas Card Club to produce another card.  This time Mary is our host and want to see poinsettias or other Christmas greenery.  I have managed three cards, all fairly CAS and I think I have covered Mary's remit pretty well.

Card 1

Recipe
5" x 7" base card
green card stock - Rymans
Festive embossing folder - Sheena Douglass
Trailing ivy dies - Sue Wilson
digi image - from stash
red pearls from stash

Holly and ivy definitely counts as Christmas greenery and I haven't used this image for a few years so it was time for it to reappear.

Card 2

Recipe
6" square base card
gold card stock - Anna Marie Designs
image - Greeting Card Factory Deluxe
 Sentiment stamped in white
pearls from stash

I love the hellebores and berries on this image and the bunnies look very sweet - but believe me that was not what I was thinking when the little blighters were digging in my lawn yesterday morning! The joys of living in the country.

Card 3

Recipe
4" x 6" base card
red card stock - Rymans
image - Greeting Card Factory Deluxe
sentiment - computer generated

This one shows the poinsettias that Mary asked for plus a few extra flowers.

Well I hope you are enjoying some good weather where you are.  I was out doing some tidying up in the garden yesterday. It was looking very messy.

Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

It's Spring Time At MAWTT

Good morning and many apologies to both Wendy, our fearless leader, and Diane Louise who is hosting this challenge at MAWTT, for my tardiness.

My Card

Recipe
6 inch square base card
white, purple and lemon card - Rymans
Garden Lattice e/f - Spellbinders
large rose flower die - Brittania dies
Leaf sprigs - Sue Wilson
gems - one of the pound stores
topper - Greeting Card Factory Deluxe

I don't know about Spring Has Sprung - I think spring has actually sprung a leak!  I'm a wee bit fed up of all the rain now. And I don't like the mist and fog we have had for the last day or two either.  I'm beginning to turn into a whiner!!

Why not pop across to the blog and see what the rest of Team A have made for Diane Louise's challenge. You might decide to join in with us.

Hope everybody is keeping well.  Enjoy the weekend.

Take care.

Another Golden Wedding

Good morning.  Today I am showing a card that my friend asked me to make for her neighbours who have just celebrated their golden wedding.

My Card

I used the Tonic Laced Bow easel card die which I bought last year and never used.  Naughty girl!  I used ivory card stock and gold mirri card. The flowers and leaves are Delicate Asters from Heartfelt Creations. I really love these dies.  The numbers are Spellbinders. The ribbon and pearls were from my stash and I computer generated the sentiment.

Sorry for such a quick post today but I hope it finds you all well.

Snow Globe with Reindeer Shaker Card

Good morning.  This is my card for the Christmas Card Cub which I'm afraid was due yesterday.  The subject is Animals at Christmas so with apologies to Kate, who chose the theme,  here is my offering.

My Cards
#1

Recipe
7" square base card - Anna Marie
Falling Snow e/f - Creative Expression
Snow Globe die - Creative Expressions
Santa's Reindeer scene - Creative Expressions
Snowflake dies - The Works
silver mirri card - Crafter's Companion
silver non-shed glitter card - Crafter's Companion
Twinklets Diamond Dust inside snowglobe

 #2

Recipe
6" square card base - Rymans card
Image - Winter Wolf - Craftsuprint
turquoise glitter card - Hobbycraft

I found this image whilst searching through my external hard drive for something else, so I've had it a long time but not used.  And that's criminal because it is a beautiful image.  Such a magnificent animal.  No sentiment yet because I'm not sure who it will be going to.

#3

This is a card that is totally computer generated using my Greeting Card Factory programme. I have messed up the central image a bit.  Although on the picture it does like a circle in real life I must have stretched it a wee bit so it is not quite a perfect circle.  Looks okay though.  I quite enjoy playing around and finding different images, merging them and adding borders.  Just added some glitter and printed it onto line card stock.

Once again  Kate I apologise but I hope youare happy with the results and that it fits your callenge.

Take care.

Try Something New at International Art and Soul

Good morning and hope this finds you all well. Happy Easter - and I actually think the sun might be trying to break those clouds.  I'm hopeful because I'm getting rather tired of the constant rain.

It's time for a new challenge at IAAS - in more ways than one! The challenge today, is to make a card in a style you have never done before. I decided to make a flip flop card or, as they used to be called, a swing card.  Anyway, whatever they are called this  is what I decided to try. It's been on my list of things to try so here it is.

My Card

Recipe
base card - 6" square blue card Hobbycraft
pale blue cardstock - Limetree Crafts
Flip flop die - Tonic Studios "Enjoy Today"
flower dies - medium rose Britannia
blue pearls - Hobby House

It took a little working out but I got there in the end. Now I've got the hang of it I think that next time I will try it using an ordinary die, rather than a specific flip flop one because I have so many beautiful dies that can be utilised. It will just take a little longer to fathom it out but I think I'll manage it - it's not rocket science after all.

Why not pop across to the blog and see what the rest of the DT have decided to try for the first time? We are a "Just For Fun" blog so no prizes I'm afraid, but I think that crafting should be for fun and if it pushes us out of our comfort zone then even better.

Well that's it for today.

Take care.
